Through drawing and painting, I get to explore more innovative ways of applying art in a personal manner. Most of my art is developed in the digital realm, so being able to create art on paper or canvas lets me explore other methods that can be applied in any platform. Throughout my compositions, I like to explore a lot of varieties in styles, but the ones that will be shown are either natuarlism or surrealism. Though these methods are two different ideas, I often like to combine them by having a natural layout that drives the narrative and then throwing surreal/realistic elements in it.

“Oregon Coast” - Pencil on Paper

“Budding Work” - Pencil and Charcoal on Paper

Drawing

These works show both naturailm and surrealism, “Oregon Coast” showing a landscape of Oregon coast, inspired by its rocky cliffs meeting the expansive ocean. An important aspect of this was developing the rock texture in the cliffs through blending and shading. In”Budding Work” the narrative is a person working on their laptop with a surreal moment of these flowers budding out of the computer. In this, depicting realistic depth in the flowers and hand was developed by shadows and blending .

“Melting Bear Skull” - Acrylic Paint and Sharpie on Canvas

This painting was inspired by how things in nature decompose. Having the idea of that, I wanted to show a surreal idea with naturalistic renderings of a bear skull melting away. The roses added are their to represent the motif of death and they are also sticking to the style of the melting bear skull.
